Why import data in CustomerSuccessBox?

To get started in CustomerSuccessBox, you need to get your data available in CustomerSuccessBox. There are several ways to achieve this; however, this step will help you import the data using a .csv file.
Import functionality can help upload Accounts, Users, Subscriptions, Invoices, Tickets, Issues(JIRA) in Customer SuccessBox.

Important terminologies to know before you import data

  • Unique Account IDs: It must be present in every CSV whether having accounts’ data or subscriptions' or any other. These ids allow CustomerSuccessBox to map the correct data to the correct object.

  • To assign a CSM to the account, they need to be firstly added in CustomerSuccessBox, and their email is used rather than a name in the CSV template. Same for every Success(Team) Role.

  • Only CSV files are accepted.

  • Acceptable Date Format: YYYY-MM-DD

  • Numbers, currency values in the sheet should not have ‘,’. It will result in failure. (Truncated exception error)

  • Formats along with the required fields: Accounts, Users, Subscriptions, Invoices, Tickets, Issues

Pre-preparation to do before importing data

  • Prepare a .csv file with the help of standard formats that have all the account information you want to upload in CustomerSuccessBox. In addition, the file must have unique event ids to map the data to the right entity in CustomerSuccessBox. Please refer to this template for Accounts, which shares the required fields that need to be filled.

  • You have to check your CustomerSuccessBox instance or sample import file to gather what standard attributes are present in CustomerSuccessBox and can help you to store the information(like Created On, Billing Country, Email, etc.).If any attribute you desire is not available, you’ll need to create Custom   Attributes to store the rest of the data. (like Contract Link, Go Live Date, etc.). Learn more about how to create custom attributes here.

Q. What if I upload the wrong data while importing?

It is very important that you check the data before importing, If wrong data is uploaded, it results in data mess.
